"Overall I’m sleeping better than before I did the series so that’s a win for me.
I appreciated the clarity you brought to the course, and the obvious care that has gone in to the online backup for the lessons.
I enjoyed the simplicity of the structures, the focus on awareness, the continuous invitations to do less, the reminders to return to sensation when thoughts wandered, and the effectiveness of the exercises in bringing me a depth of relaxation and sweetness of sensation.
I am a regular Vipassana meditator and so the focus on the minute subtleties of sensation suited me very well" Sharron : Sounder Sleep Series 1 Student August 2020.
"I’ve done a Sounder Sleep workshop with Steve and highly recommend the practise if you struggle with sleep and anxiety. It’s transformed my sleep patterns and I don’t get stressed out now when I’m wide awake at 3am !"

I suffered a major stroke in November 2015 which severely effected my right side . I was discharged home from hospital in January 2016 able to mobilise short distances inside with a stick and ankle /foot orthosis. I was unaware of my right side and my balance was poor.
Since January I have worked with Steve Cheslett weekly and I believe this work has been instrumental in the improvements I have made so far.
Steve has been very positive and motivational and I feel this has been a major help in my recovery.
I no longer need my ankle splint to walk and only use my stick outside for confidence on rough ground. I can now walk 1/2 mile outside by myself.
My stance and gait pattern are much more natural now and I am much more aware of my right side . Sensation is returning to my right leg an my balance and confidence are much improved. My mood and motivation are much better now .
I believe these major improvements would not have been possible without my sessions with Steve and I would strongly recommend him without reservation" D.D . Kendal July 2016
"I came to the Sounder Sleep workshop on Saturday and wanted to say how much I enjoyed it and how well I slept on Saturday night! I spoke to my son on the phone on Sunday and he said I sounded like a different person. On Sunday I practised what you'd shown us several times through the day and, again, slept soundly for 9 hours. So thank you for a nicely paced day , no pressure, and excellent results." E .Lancaster June 2019
"Recently went to the Feldenkrais Fundamentals workshop, not knowing what to expect, came away very happy and relaxed. It was a small group, so a relaxed and easy going atmosphere, Steve was very approachable and gave just the right mix of instruction, theory and practice during the workshop. The practice itself was very gentle and floor based, and we were given very clear and precise instructions. Having had years of issues with shoulders and lower back, everything feels freer and good today, making me think it's something definitely I would like to practice and experience more, so the workshop was an ideal intro to the Feldenkrais Method." "The Feldenkrais fundamentals day is a great introduction to Feldenkrais principles and practice of awareness through movement. I learned a lot about the body-brain interactions and felt some shifts in my awareness. By the end of the day I was in a different space to when I arrived. Thanks Steve for a great day, I look forward to the sleep workshop!"

"Just wanted to thank you again for a wonderful day yesterday introducing us to Feldenkrais.
It was lovely to be able to spend a day becoming immersed in it and to feel the deeply profound effect that it has on all aspects of being human. I was so happy to feel the tension (created over the last few years, due to us as a family having to cope with my mum and Alzheimer’s whilst still looking after each other) easing away from my abdomen. Despite that tension not manifesting as physical pain, I have been very aware of it and not able to let it go. Yesterday was quite a breakthrough, making me feel both happy, relieved and tearful at the prospect that I can actually let it go and not always carry it around with me. I felt amazing and still do. I did feel some aches last night around my sacrum which have all gone now, leaving me with the ability to move much more freely and feel the connection from head to toe".

"Steve’s one day workshop at the Storey in Lancaster is a fantastic introduction to the Feldenkrais Method. I learned a lot about the mind-body connection and over the course of the day gained a huge amount of awareness of how the brain controls and perceives the body and every movement it performs. Highly recommended for everyone no matter what your background and abilities".

"I throughly enjoyed the fundamentals workshop I managed to get home without falling asleep! The pain had decreased considerably in my lower back improving over the next few days as I practiced some of the work we did".

"Just taking a moment to let you know how much the workshop had an effect on me.
While doing the workshop I became much more aware of the movement of different aspects of my body and how they relate to each other.
Since the workshop I have tried to implement techniques which have been of benefit. The pelvic clock works to reduce the pain in my lower back and I've become acutely aware of how I hold my shoulders and the tension it creates.
Thank you for providing me with some tools and techniques to use in my daily life.
Thank you" Neil Lancaster 2018
"A good teacher is a facilitator who opens doors to enable the student to learn. Steve Cheslett guides in such a way.
A few months ago I first read about Moshe Feldenkrais and his practice of awareness through movement. On making enquiries I learnt to my amazement that we had our own practitioner of this method in Kendal and area and this was Steve.
As a pupil of Steve’s for ten sessions I have learned from him to become more aware of the musculoskeletal relationships of the body and how to work towards reducing the pain in my left arm and shoulder and to slowly increase the flexibility of quite severe limitations of movement with that arm to near full usage. The verdict of the National Health was that it would take either manipulation under anaesthetic followed by possible slow and painful recovery, or without treatment a chance of return of full movement in that arm in one or several years time.
Steve inspired the confidence and courage to experiment by exploring new movements or ones I thought to have been impossible. In pursuing the limits of current movement he would gently and expertly guide yet with sensitivity of any early discomfort.
His experience as a practicing physiotherapist gives confidence with assurance of his knowledge of anatomy and physiology and also neurology and the understanding of the brain’s plasticity through his training in the Feldenkrais Method. With this method the previously imagined impossible may become possible through the breaking of habits by retraining the brain. The teaching involves the whole body and demonstrates that the articulation of different parts of the body are all linked.
When I first went to Steve my arm was too painful to use and I was very protective of it. I was not able to drive because no way could I manoeuvre the gears. Pain prevented a night’s sleep in bed. I needed someone to fasten my shoelaces. Dressing, cooking, eating, hanging out clothes could only be achieved using just my right hand and then the whole upper body felt heavy and tired.
Within three months of sessions with Steve every two or three weeks, the constant pain went away and painkillers were no longer required, and with his teaching, guidance and encouragement I gradually developed the freedom of movement to lead a normal life again and even the ability to drive the car once more.
I now feel I should be able to continue what I have learnt with Steve on my own to re-build the muscle strength and further extend the arm movements to full capacity. I would now like to learn more with Steve in his group sessions held in Kendal." R. M . Kendal October 2015.
"For me that was amazing the difference in the pain in my hand and shoulder, from the start of the class".
